Creating the New You

Temptation can be what is keeping you from your goals. Your body likes to be where it is comfortable, and so when you are breaking a bad habit, it's a fight of mind vs. body. This altercation is uncomfortable, you are telling yourself all of the reasons why you should do it, but then also reminding yourself of why you are resisting in the first place. Staying ahead of these temptations is key; you know they will arise and you have to handle them the best that you can.

These moments will either prolong the change or keep you on the path to your goals. Every time you fight back against the body, it becomes just a little bit weaker, and then it becomes easier and easier to resist. Something that helps me is thinking of it as a game. Think about it as your “old self” playing against your “new self”. Your old self is well... Old and wise and knows the way you work better than your “new self” does, however the more you coach your new self, the better it will be at playing the game. The attachment will ease and you will be able to see things from a different perspective. Keep at your goals, you will be there closer than you think.
