How To Stay Organized In Your Not-So Organized Life!

ORGANIZATION: The act of being organized. It sounds like a pretty easy concept to understand, but when you realize you’re rushing to get ten things done in five minutes and its 1AM, you think, hmm maybe its not that easy. Being organized is the KEY to living a balanced life. Whether you are in school, working a full-time job, have kids, or just live a busy life in general, time management is super important to accomplishing daily and life goals! Below I have listed three things that I do to keep myself on track.

1. Always Have My Planner With Me.

Literally don’t know where I would be without my planner! I write everything and anything that I need to do in it. I usually color code and highlight to help give me a visual of how my day will go.  An alternative to using a paper planner is to use your cell phone’s calendar app, or even use an online planner website.

2. Look At The Big Picture.

It can be very overwhelming to look at all the things you need to accomplish in a day or weeks’ time period, so it is always good to look at things with the “big picture” outlook. Looking at things one by one will probably result in you getting even more stressed out! Organize your thoughts, think what comes first, what has a due date, and what is your priority! I guarantee having this mindset when planning out your schedule will help tremendously.

3. Make Time For Myself.

Making time for some personal TLC, is something us busy bees tend to never do. I am very guilty of never slowing down and taking time to relax, but I have gotten much better in this past year. Doing so much can really take a toll on your body, physically and mentally! It is important to remember your health and wellness is just as important as everyone else’s. So, whether you are working 80 hours a week, or just constantly running from responsibility to responsibility, always make sure to schedule in some time to sit back and relax, even if it is only for a couple hours a day.
