Post Party Recovery

Alright guys, I know we’ve  all woken up after a long night of drinking and your body is screaming with anger because of how it's been treated. And to you, body, I am very sorry, but can you just forgive me as soon as possible? Time is really what our body needs, but there are some ways to speed up the process and get us on our feet quicker.

Alcohol will make you very dehydrated, so first things first, you gotta get some water. If you can remember the night before, try making a glass of water and put it beside your bed for when you wake up. Yes, that walk to the fridge can feel like a marathon. If you really want to get a punch of hydration, try Coconut Water. It’s full of electrolytes which will speed up the hydration process. After you’ve gotten yourself hydrated, now it's time to replenish your body with foods full of the nutrients lost. Drinking will affect your blood sugar levels, so eating some healthy carbs will help. Your body may also be deficient in B vitamins, which is a source of energy for the body. Here's a couple of healthy options:

Banana Smoothie

  • Bananas are full of potassium and vitamin B6, both things that are lost after a night of drinking. It's also a source of carbs, another important part of your recovery. Start your smoothie with bananas and then add in whatever else you have on hand!

Antioxidant Oatmeal

  • Oatmeal is an excellent source of healthy carbs which stabilize blood sugar. Oats also have B vitamins, and a ton of other nutrients! Load up your oatmeal with fruit, peanut butter, seeds, honey, etc..

A happy body is a happy mind! Remember to give your body what it needs so that it can function at its best:)
